This site is formerly known as the Professional Dog Walkers Association International which
was an incorporated not-for-profit organization made up of professional Pet Care companies
who abided by a Code of Conduct and a
Code of Ethics for their business.
It was founded in 1997.
After 6 years of steady involvement and commitment to the betterment of the dog walking industry, Dianne Eibner met Martin Deeley from the International Association of Canine Professionals. Collaborating their efforts to improve the standards for those who worked with canines professionally, was the best way to take the Professional Dog Walkers Association International to the next level.
In January 2007 the PDWAI made a bold move and merged with the IACP to maintain and enhance the growth of the Dog Walking Profession through education, support, networking and cooperation over the wide range of associated professionals in the dog world. This joining with IACP has produced an influential and motivated section founded on the original mission of the PDWAI.
Pet care is rapidly growing in popularity throughout the world. Here at www.ProDogWalker.com we provide information for those coming into the industry and encourage to continue one's education even after you are established.

Professional Dog Walking and Pet Care requires special skills and knowledge of animal behaviour, therefore we have adapted a mission statement for professional dog walkers:
Professional Dog Walker's Mission:
"To enhance the quality of care given to our clients and to uphold our professional image through the Code of Conduct and Ethics, and Certification Program."
We pride ourselves on setting a limit on the number of dogs that one person walks.
Group walks consist of no more than six dogs at the absolute maximum. We understand
that there are different breeds and sizes of dogs which require different kinds of
care, therefore a continuous education in pet dog training is strongly recommended.
